Jean, a therapist, is driven by deceit and lust at the expense of her family and sanity. My initial reaction when reading the pilot was to see the opposing facets of this antihero refracted through three reoccurring narrative objects: her wedding diamond, a perfume bottle, and a Bulleit Bourbon bottle. Perfume evolved to the object that all possessed by secrets and lies must desperately monitor for survival, a clock. And did I mention it would all live over a haunting new rendition by Stevie Nicks?!
